  • TEIA ANNUAL FAIR: Saturday, August 1 from 10 AM to 1 PM

     

    The fair will be in full swing this year with activities including white elephant table, grill, lobster rolls, silent auction, bake sale, raffles, new TEIA shirts/gear and fair dinner!

    FAIR DINNER: Saturday, August 1 at 6:30 PM (doors open at 5 PM)

     

    Join us for TEIA’s Annual Fair Dinner a relaxed and delicious way to gather with friends, family, and neighbors after the fair!

    Enjoy a hearty pasta meal with something for everyone. Whether you’re coming off a day of fair fun or just looking for a great community meal, this is the perfect place to connect and unwind.

    All are welcome! Bring your appetite and your community spirit! Proceeds help support TEIA programs for all ages throughout the summer.

    Tickets to the dinner are $20 for children 12 and under, $25 for inside seating, and $30 for porch seating. Kids under 3 eat free.  Contact Stephanie Castle at sealights99@aol.com to get your tickets. BYOB.

  • FRIDAY NIGHT SOCIAL GATHERING ON THE PORCH: Fridays beginning June 5 from 6 PM to 8 PM

     

    There is no better place than the porch of TEIA each Friday evening to watch the sky magically glow in a spectrum of pastel colors as the sun goes down and sets over the Diamonds. Porch gatherings are BYOB and an appetizer to share with fellow TEIA members and their guests or neighbors interested in learning more about TEIA.

     

    There will be no porch gathering on July 31 due to set-up for the Annual Fair. Following the August 7 porch gathering, we will host a trivia night starting at 7:30 p.m.

     

    FOURTH OF JULY: Saturday, July 4 at 7 PM

     

    Come enjoy the porch, pull up a rocker, watch the sunset, and the fireworks.  The porch will be open until the fireworks end. BYOB and appetizers/desserts to share.

     

    THE BEST PARTY: Monday, August 10 at 6 PM

     

    We all have our favorite things we use daily; that special go-to recipe or the store-bought dish that everyone thinks you made from scratch. Let’s get together to share these items with our friends so we can all benefit from each other’s BEST things! Examples could be your favorite recipe, wine, salad dressing, cleaner, appliance, hair product, etc. If you can bring a sample to show it will be easier for everyone to remember, but I will also attempt to write them all down and email to everyone. We will have to limit a maximum three items per person, or we could be up all night! 35 guests maximum, BYOB. Contact Sandy Sturrock at sandysturrock@aol.com.

    Come join together with friends to say goodbye to the 2026 TEIA season. Somehow it always works out that we have a great variety of food! We will gather at TEIA with a blazing fire (if needed) in the Garman Lounge. Please join us!

  • BEATLES DANCE! Saturday, June 20 from 6 PM to 8 PM

     

    Peaks Island’s 6th annual celebration of Global Beatles Day will be hosted at TEIA! Come celebrate the phenomenon that is The Beatles, featuring LIVE music from Peaks Island’s own British Invasion band, The Hedgehogs. The Hedgehogs with Loco Motion Line Dancing will get your heart thumping and your feet moving to the sounds of The Beatles and their contemporaries. Beware! Someone may want to hold your hand and ask you to please, please be true because they love you yeah, yeah, yeah! BYOB, appetizers and snacks welcomed! Suggested door donation is $15 helps cover costs and support our work, but all are welcome.

     

    DON CAMPBELL BAND: Saturday, July 18 at 7 PM

     

    Maine performer and songwriter Don Campbell is a six-time winner of the title "Maine's Best Singer-Songwriter" from the Maine Sunday Telegram's reader's poll. He has a multi-octave voice and a crossover song list that includes folk, pop, country and standards. Don has won a slew of awards for his songs. His recordings can be found on CD and online. He has shared the stage with Carrie Underwood, Willie Nelson, the Guess Who and many more great American artists. Although he often performs solo, Don will have his full band with him for this very special performance. In the words of Schooner Fare's Chuck Romanoff, "When we are no longer performing at TEIA, the first choice for your summer concert should be Don Campbell." TEIA members $30/$25, non-members $35/$30 for table or general seating. More ticket information will be available soon.

  • TEIA PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Saturday, July 11 from 8 AM to 10 AM

     

    Pancakes, sausage, eggs, fruit, juice, coffee, and tea – what a delicious way to start your Saturday morning! Bring your friends and family, or plan to volunteer for this fundraiser that benefits FRIENDS of TEIA! Adults are $20.00, children 12 and under are $10.00, and children under 3 are free.

    WOMEN’S DINNER: Thursday, August 20 at 6 PM

     

    You’re invited to a special Women’s Dinner created to bring women together in a fun, welcoming, and inclusive way. Members and their guests will gather at the TEIA clubhouse to enjoy a sumptuous, themed meal. This year we will go to Morocco, so plan to wear your best caftan. The menu and presentation are designed by two of our renowned island chefs, and the meal is prepared together by those attending- making the evening interactive, social and delicious. Seating is intentionally mixed to encourage new connections, and the evening includes a creative hands-on activity that adds laughter and shared experience. Advance online registration is required. Register here for free, then pay $30 cash per person due at the event. Reserve by August 13. Join us for great food, fresh connections and an evening designed to be enjoyed by all.

  • COLORS and PAGES of PEAKS ART SHOW and RECEPTION: Friday, July 10 at 6 PM and Saturday, July 11 at 9 AM

     

    Mark your calendar for TEIA’s annual Color and Pages of Peaks event where island artists, illustrators, and authors come together to share, show, and sell their works. The event’s reception will begin on Friday will resume on Saturday morning, in conjunction with the annual Pancake Breakfast. All proceeds from art and book commissions benefit Friends of TEIA who make it possible for all year- round island youth to attend TEIA tennis, youth camp, and sailing programs.     HOUSE TOUR: Saturday, July 25th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

    Step inside some of Peaks Island’s most unique and charming homes at the 2026 Peaks Island House Tour hosted by TEIA!

    This beloved annual event offers a rare opportunity to explore a curated selection of island homes, each showcasing its own character, history, and creative design. Stroll through the island at your own pace, enjoy the scenic views along the way, and gather inspiration from a variety of architectural styles and personal touches.

    Whether you're a year-round resident, summer visitor, or first-time guest, the House Tour is a wonderful way to experience the beauty and spirit of the Peaks Island community. After the tour, guests are invited to a reception at TEIA’s clubhouse from 3–5pm, a relaxed gathering space to unwind, share highlights from the day, and connect with neighbors and friends over some light refreshments.

    Tickets support TEIA’s summer programs for all ages. We hope you’ll join us for this special island tradition!

     

    ABSINTHE ARTIST SALON: Select Sundays to 7 p.m. 

     

    Liz Rollins will again be hosting salon-style gatherings on several Sundays from 7-9pm in the Garman Lounge at TEIA. Artists of all sorts are encouraged to share their original works in progress, accept and offer constructive critique, read some favorite poetry, prose or plays, sing or play music, share drawings, paintings or other media, perhaps bring a favorite homemade treat, bring ideas and participate in lively philosophical discussions, share green absinthe spirits, tea and treats and watch the sunset. Free, welcoming, and open to all (topics tend to be more adult.) Drop in whenever you wish. “True artists” are not defined by their media or talents, but by the unique and beautiful way they approach life and the path they choose in fresh snow.  Join us.

     

  • THE WILD ROBOT ON THE ISLAND: Tuesday, July 7 at 7 PM


    Get a behind the scenes glimpse of the Wild Robot world with author and illustrator Peter Brown. Brown has written and illustrated many books for children and earned numerous honors, including a Caldecott Honor, a Horn Book Award, two E.B. White Awards, two E.B. White Honors, a Children’s Choice Award for Illustrator of the Year, two Irma Black Honors, a Golden Kite Award, a New York Times Best Illustrated Book Award and multiple New York Times bestsellers. This event is sponsored by the Illustration Institute.


    EIGHTEEN TWENTY WINES: Tuesday, July 14 at 7 PM


    Island resident Amanda Denniston, founder of eighteen twenty wines, will talk about her entrepreneurship story. Denniston founded eighteen twenty wines in 2015 after tasting a friend's homemade rhubarb wine. Inspired by that unexpected discovery, she set out to bring a truly unique, locally-sourced wine to market - made not from grapes, but from Maine-grown rhubarb. Wine tasting included!


    THE MYSTERY IN THE ROOM: Tuesday, July 21 at 7 PM


    Peaks Island author Dr. Chuck Radis will discuss his new book, The Mystery in the Room: A Physician's Journey Treating Patients With Rare Diseases. The book captures the real-world challenges - and quiet victories and defeats - faced by both doctor and patient in the real-world challenges of complex immune system diseases.

    BOOK DISCUSSION: Tuesday, July 28 at 7 PM


    Come share some lemonade cookies and a discussion of The New York Times bestseller, Theo of Golden. Self-published by Allen Levi, this imaginative novel takes us to the small southern city of Golden, Georgia, where the Theo of the title begins a mission of anonymous kindness. The book explores themes of generosity, connection, and the quiet miracles of human kindness. Member Barbara Hoppin will

    lead the discussion.

    THE DEVELOPMENT OF EMPATHY IN TEENAGERS: Tuesday, August 4 at 7 PM


    Professor of Psychological Science at Vassar College Abigail Baird will give a talk on how empathy develops the importance of encouraging it in the teen years. Professor Baird’s research examines the brain and behavioral basis of adolescent development. Her work examines the ways in which social, emotional, cognitive, and brain-based factors drive the processes by which adolescents become adults.

    TACKLING THE YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: Tuesday, August 11 at 7 PM


    Co-Founder & Director of Global Initiatives for the Yellow Tulip Project Suzanne Fox will discuss tackling the youth mental health crisis through art, storytelling and gardens. The mission of the Yellow Tulip Project is “to smash the stigma surrounding mental illness and to build a community of people who realize that hope happens when youth and community leaders work together. We hope that someday mental illness will be as normal to talk about as any physical illness, and are fiercely dedicated to making this goal a reality.”

  • MAHJONGG: Wednesdays beginning June 24, 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM

    NEW: Sundays June 21, July 5, 26, August 2, 16, 30, 6:30 PM to 9 PM

     

    Players meet in the Garman Lounge for fun and easy play.  All levels are
    welcome. Want to learn? We will teach you.  Two-session lesson July 9th and
    16th at 1:30; please register in advance for lessons. Open to the community.

    FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT: Wednesdays beginning July 8 at 6 PM

     

    A themed movie is picked each week. Participants can bring dinner/snacks and beverages.

    TRIVIA NIGHT: Friday, August 7 at 7:30 PM

     

    Join us following the porch gathering for annual trivia night! Downfront’s Stuart Jackson returns as host for a night of fun and competition. Cost is $20/person and teams are capped at eight people each. For teams of six people or more, the cost is $100. The top three winning teams will get a share of the pot! Pizza will be provided. BYOB and bring your own snacks. Reserve your team spot by emailing infoteiaclub@gmail.com.

  • CLUBHOUSE TOURS: Saturday, June 20 from 11 AM to 3 PM

    Tour one of Peaks Island's most historically significant buildings, the clubhouse at TEIA. Built in 1912 and lovingly maintained, it has been the island center for education, recreation, cultural activities and entertainment for more than a century. Your guide will share the history of the clubhouse and the plans to protect it from rising water and storms. Tours begin at 11, 12, 1 and 2. No cost.
