Adult Pickleball

IMG_7184.jpeg

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country!

Join us to learn and play this fun and social game on our regulation court by the ocean!

A TEIA membership as well as a pickleball membership is required to use the court.

The pickle ball court is open for play seven days a week during daylight hours.

An exception to this is the following four time slots: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 1:30-2:30 p.m., when it is reserved for Youth Program activities. See schedule details below.

Court shoes are required on the pickleball court. Players should bring their own paddles and balls.

Schedule of Play

Mornings on the Court

From 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., the court is reserved for adult social play. All adult members (age 19+), regardless of skill level, are welcome. However, “fun, friends and fitness” are the keywords, with both new and experienced members gathering at the court for friendly games and socializing. More experienced players help those who are newer to the game. Rather than the use of the paddle rack, balanced teams are the priority. Players rotate in and out, cycling through different combinations of matches. Efforts are made to ensure that all players get to play in a relaxed and supportive environment. This is a great way to meet new friends and improve your game!

From 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the court is reserved for adult competitive play. All adult members, regardless of skill level, are welcome. However, games may be at a higher level, and the emphasis is on winning rather than helping less skilled players learn the game. The paddle rack is typically used. More experienced players may choose to play more challenging games during this time. Less experienced players may choose to “play up,” challenging themselves by playing with others who are more skilled than they are, to improve their game by facing faster rallies and tougher strategies, even if it means getting beaten more often.

Early Morning, Afternoon & Evening

At all other hours (except during the M, T, T, F 1:30-2:30 p.m. Youth Program), both adult and junior members are welcome to come down to the court to play. When the court is full, waiting players are to place their paddles in the paddle rack, which means they are waiting for the court to open. If there are paddles in the paddle rack, players who just finished their game must exit the court so that the waiting players can come on to the vacated court.
