Dock and Boating News

The boating season will be in full swing come June, so check back soon for updates about the 2008 season!

Junior Sailing Program

The TEIA Sailing Program has taught young Islanders how to sail and have fun on the water for more than 40 years. The program teaches water safety, small boat handling, basic seamanship and sailboat cruising racing for children ages eight to eighteen. Our fleet includes 13 Optimists, five 420s, 3 Lasers, and larger boats on loan from members. Every child can learn and have fun in boats that match his or her skills and interests.

The program kicks off June 23rd with a one-week sailing camp. Regular classes begin June 30 and end August 15. Students can enroll for as little as one week if there is space available. Click here to learn all about TEIA's wonderful sailing offerings and here to get the schedule and registration materials.

Adult Sailing

The Adult Learn to Sail Program operates in a 23 foot keelboat on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Learn the basics of sailing or just ride along for the fun of it with an instructor and 5 students in the boat. Program cost is $200 for the season or $100 for two weeks. Private/semi-private lessons and other arrangements available. Click here for registration package or call Susan Merrow to register at 207.766.2163.
